MFT Written in Watercolor

I am loving this MFT Written in Watercolor sentiment set! I paired it with the Pretty Posies stamp set, this is a different card for me but I like the way it turned out!

I double stamped the sentiment in black and a grey to give the shadow effect to make the sentiment really pop.  I then added some of the accompanying elements from the Pretty Posies in different aqua and purple die inks.  added some sequins to finish it off (of course) and that was it. Very quick card to put together!

Thanks for taking the time!

MFT - Miss You

Quiet holiday here in Quebec! Feels good to have the first of two long-weekends! Spent the morning organizing my craft room/office and I finished off this card featuring My Favorite Things products.

I finally received my backorder die-cuts from MFT for the Snuggle Bunnies set, I just love this set. While I was at my local craft store Scrapbook Centrale I also picked up the MFT Peek-a-Boo Wonky Window dies and the Written in Watercolor sentiments.  I offset and stamped the Miss You twice, once in Versafine Black then clear embossed and repeated again with VersaMark and clear embossed. I saw Jennifer McGuire do this in a video and I simply love the effect it gives. I then used Shaded Lilac and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks on my smaller inside panel then sprayed with my Distress Sprayer. The Paper is Neena 80lbs so the droplet effect is more subtle then on watercolour paper. I took the same distress colours and used the Diagonal Stripe stencil also by MFT for the larger top Neena panel. I the created my shaker and added a mix of Black, Violet and Turquoise splotches on the top left of the card.  I stamped and Copic coloured my bunny and placed him on top of the shaker.  Finished off with a mix of sequins and some twine!

Thanks for taking the time!
Have a great weekend!

CFC150 Thanks Twine!

Time for another challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays Woot, Woot!!!  The theme is Thanks Twine for CFC150.

I love CAS-ual Fridays Stamps for their clean lines and the sentiments are fabulous. This flower from Truth Is is my all time favourite, it is so stained from use lol!!!  I stamped my Thanks from the Thanks sentiment set twice, first in Versafine Onyx Black and used clear embossing powder then stamped it a second time with VersaMark ink slightly offset and used clear embossing again to give the shadow effect.  I then stamped the full flower from the Truth Is and stamped the only the top flower portion a second time and Copic coloured them. I blended Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress inks on a Neena Solar White 80lbs and added flicks of black and gold watercolour paint. I then die cut the second set of flowers and added them with foam tape. I added my black and white twine to the smaller flower and finished it off with sequins and the "a bunch" also from the Thanks stamp set :)

Penny Black Scented Beauty

I am on a Zig Clean Color Brush Marker binge lately!! Along with that, I am so obsessed with Penny Black flowers probably because it is finally feeling like summer :)

I am trying to practice no-line watercoloring... I usually just use my Zigs without water because they blend like a dream but I am trying to push myself to do other techniques!  I always use Strathmore Bristol paper with my Zigs, I just find it the best with those markers.  I die cut my panel (Avery Elle Wonky Stitched die) and used my Misti to place the Slapstick Cling stamp at the angle I wanted. I used Antique Linen Distress ink and stamped it twice to see the definition of the roses better.

This card is for my favourite aunt who is battling dementia her birthday is soon and she loves getting my cards in the mail, so this one is extra special to me. She is French Canadian so the sentiment is by a Quebec stamp company called Limecitron.

Thanks for taking the time!

Penny Black Fresh with Zig Clean Color Brush Pens

Here is a card using Penny Black's Fresh cling stamp and my Zig Clean Color Brush Pens.

I die cut my panel from Strathmore Bristol Cardstock, it is my favourite to use with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  The stamp is Penny Black's Fresh Slapstick Cling with Versamark and White embossing powder. I used two shades of Pink, Orange and Red for each flower and my water brush to smooth everything out.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped in Versafine Black Onyx ink and finished it off with Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins!

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge - Summer!!!

It's all about summer over at the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge :) This card is so representative of summer for me. Vacation during the regular year is near impossible so I am lucky to have a month over the summer.  We love to go to the beach with friends of ours and this year is no exception!

Ironically, I used the Warm Christmas Wishes stamps and dies by Simon Says Stamp minus the Santa in shorts! I Copic coloured all of my images. For the background, sky, water and sand I used Distress Inks. For the sky Tumbled Glass and a Touch or Mermaid Lagoon, for the water Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers and the sand is a mix of Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso and some Distress Markers for the accents on the sand and the shadows. The seagulls are from a Lawn Fawn set and the sequins are Pretty Pink Posh!

Thanks for taking the time!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: CFC149 - Florals!

It's time for a new challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays!!! CFC149 is all about Florals!

I started by stamping my flowers from the Pretty Posies stamp set (love these flowers!) on vellum and white embossing them.  I then took some intense Copic colours and coloured the back of the vellum which gives such a nice effect. I die cut the flowers with the coordinating Posies Fri-Dies.  I stamped and embossed my Hello sentiment from the Wallflower stamp set in black with clear embossing powder which softened the look of the sentiment.  I embossed my card base with the We R Memory Keepers next level polka dot embossing folder. Die cut a frame out of Neena Solar White and copper embossed it three times.  Put the card together and added my flowers!

Lawn Fawn meets Disney - Tinkerbell and Ariel

I had such fun with this card, I channeled my inner seven year-old!  Lawn Fawn could seriously develop a series of Disney type princesses!! I was looking at the Fairies and the Mermaids then thought why not have Tinkerbell meet Ariel (and Sebastian but the sequins kind of hide him)!

I die cut two Lawn Fawn stitched circles using Canson watercolor paper. For Tinkerbell"s circle I used  Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks and for Ariel's I used Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers and a touch of Salty Ocean, after blending the inks I used my Distress Sprayer for texture. I stamped all of my images using my Misti to stamp them all at once on Neena 80lbs to color with my Copics. I then decided to emboss the top panel with an older Cuttlebug embossing folder that has leaves I found it lent to the mystical fairytale feel :)  I then used my Misiti again as I forgot to emboss my sentiment first and used a mix of Wow and Ranger embossing powers that matched the colors in both circles.  This one was really fun to make!

Ok, I used multiple Lawn Fawn stamp sets here is the list:

Mermaid for You
Fairy Friends
Stinkin Cute (flower)
Fantastic Friends (fishy)
Gleeful Gardens (mushroom)
Life is Good (Sebastian)

Thanks for taking the time!
