Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright

I recently placed a few orders with Simon Says Stamp. I love their exclusive products :)

I had such fun with this one, I like the non-traditional grey for my background.  I used the Simon Says Stamp Exclusives Merry and Bright die and the Breeze wafer die.  The Sentiment was die cut from silver cardstock and the Breeze die was cut on the grey panel with silver glitter paper backing it for some shimmer.  The poinsettias and snowflake stamps that are embossed are from three different older Simon Says Stamp sets. I then topped off the card with Lucy's Little Things Winter Mint sequin  mix (my favourite mix ever!) and some Gellyroller dots to look like snow!

Thanks for taking the time!

Art Impression Stackers

Happy Sunday all, even though it wasn't Thanksgiving for me I was still able to benefit from some on-line shopping and some excellent Black Friday deals! This is a card made with one of the Art Impression stackers (that I am in love with). They are hard to come by as they are usually out of stock in most places, I was so excited to be able to get my hands on two of the Christmas ones. I used the Reindeer Stacker for this one.

There is something so nice about Prismacolors on Kraft paper. In hindsight, I would have used a paler colour for the bodies of the deer but I still think they are just the cutest!  I used a Lawn Fawn stamp for the snowy background with Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink. I then managed to mess-up my sentiment which was originally supposed to go directly on the card... My solution was to double-up a small Lawn Fawn tag die and I like my fix, LOL! It gives the card a little more colour.

I hope those of you celebrating had a wonderful long-weekend.

Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says Stamp - Flickr Challenge

I managed to get this one under the wire for the last Simon Says Stamp Challenge over at Flickr! The Challenge was colouring in honour of the 30-day Colouring Challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin.
For anyone that follows this blog or knows me, you know that I am a crazy dog lady LOL!

This card features the Simon Says Stamp  Simon and Dexter Christmas stamp set and the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil.  I honestly love this set from last year, and colouring Simon is always fun! This card is actually for one of my deer friends who has a dog just like Simon!

Thanks for taking the time!

Holiday Card Season!!!

So this is my favourite time of year, the Christmas season just makes me smile.  My holiday card orders are streaming in and I am having such fun.  This project features many different companies that I like.  I must say however, that I recently placed some large orders from Simon Says Stamp and Ellen Hutson.  I was so disappointed with my Ellen Hutson order, I am Canadian and the exchange rate makes American orders quite expensive. Add to that a 20-day wait for my order and I was saddled with an extra $40.00 customs fee.  I was so disappointed... Because I do love the exclusive products. I don't mean to rant because they are quality products but I simply can't have that happen again.  As for my Simon order, 8 days and I had everything in-hand and no customs fee. I was very happy with that one :)

So here is my project featuring items from those orders!

I die cut the Leaping Deer from Ellen Hutson on my panel then from glitter paper and did a die cut insert. I also die cut the Simon Says Stamp Bubble Breeze die in the lower left hand corner and placed a small piece of silver glitter paper behind the panel.  The sentiment from Papertray Ink and the Casual Fridays snowflakes were embossed with the Simon Says Stamp fine silver embossing powder. I then topped everything off with my first set of Lucy Abrams sequins in the Winter Mint (I love this mix).

CFC161 - Be Thankful with a discount!!!

Time for a new challenge over at Cas-ual Fridays :) The theme is Be Thankful! American Thanksgiving is next week and what a better time to reflect and be thankful then now! We celebrate Thanksgiving in October here in Canada but I would do a repeat anyday!

But first, Michelle has a wonderful discount for you over at Casual Fridays Stamps to celebrate this time of year!

Go on over, the savings will last while supplies do or until November 30th!!

Now on to the challenge:

I used stamps from the Thanks and Wallflower sets and embossed them in gold (love gold embossing this time of year) I then watered down Distress Inks in Ripe Persimmon, Aged Mahogany and Peeled Paint and painted on top of the embossing.  I had never used this color mix and I like it! I then turned it into a shaker card with a mix of Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.

Join us at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for the chance to win $25 worth of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and, drum roll please... Michelle with double the prize if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

Avery Elle Kitsch Christmas

I have been waiting so long for this stamp set! It was backordered everywhere to the point that I had the die set for six weeks before getting my little hands on it!  I apologies, I haven't posted in a while due to work (day job...jeez) and I have received holiday card orders for a company I deal with annually.  I should be positing regularly now :)

I am madly in love with the deer in this set and the retro looking sentiments! I coloured her with Copics, I will be using these a lot this year.  Aside from the Avery Elle deer and bow (Kitch Christmas) and sentiment the remaining products are Lawn Fawn (snow in the background, the birch trees and the snowy hill dies) and MFT red foil frame. I topped it off with (huge shocker!) Pretty Pink Posh sequins :)

Thanks for taking the time!

CFC160 - Kraft

Time for a new challenge over at Casual Fridays :) What a better challenge then a Fall type color challenge! This time you must feature Orange, Brown and Kraft! I struggle with orange, so this was a fun project for me to get me out of my comfort zone!!

I do however, love Kraft paper! For this one I kept my flowers and leaves from the Pretty Posies stamp set pretty plain by stamping them with Chocolate Fudge MFT ink. Although the details on those beautiful flowers are not plain, I just love them! I then stamped the smallest butterfly from the Casual Fridays Butterbows stamp set with MFT Tangy Orange ink. I was worried about the Hybrid ink on Kraft but I love the way the orange really shows nicely! I used the Thanks die from the Smiling Fri-die set and die cut it on Orange and Brown paper and mounted the sentiment on some fun foam for dimension. I put the card together then stamped the Many sentiment from the Thanks stamp set. I finished it all off with Pretty Pink posh sequins.
