Altenew - Fabulous You!

Happy Friday crafty friends! I am in beautiful downtown Edmonton Alberta this weekend for work. Fall has arrived in Alberta, the sun is shinning and flowers are gone :(

But this beautiful new Altenew stamp set called Fabulous You from the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember exclusives inspired me to create last weekend.

This is another of their fantastic layering sets. I started by stamping the base of the flower with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink (I know I wanted to add some Copic shading). I then stamped the second layer of the flower with Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers Ink and the second layer of the leaves with Lawn Fawn Celery Stick Ink.

I then chose some Copics that were slightly darker to add some shading and I really like the way it turned out.  I then used my Misti to stamp my sentiment from the same stamp set with VersaMark in and then gold embossed it. I then finished off my project with some gold Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Thanks for taking the time!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #13 - Fall Inspirational Board

Hope you are all having a happy Wednesday! Last day of a heat wave here in Montreal, I love this on-going summer though!

I made this project for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #13 - Fall Inspirational Board :)

As much as I love this late summer weather, fall is my favourite season. There is something about the air and colors in fall that make me happy :)

The Lawn Fawn Paper from Perfectly Plaid Fall 6x6 pack was my inspiration for this project. I die cut it and the wood grain card stock from the largest Stitched Rectangle die. I love the pairing of these two papers. I then die cut my Stitched Leaves in orange, yellow, green and light brown card stock and added some various Distress Inks to add dimension.

I then picked my sentiment from the Jump for Joy set and white embossed it on the top panel. I placed my leaves and felt that a little something to top them off would be ideal so I picked the acorn from the Into the Woods set and used my Copic Sketch markers to color him in.

Once all of my elements were placed on the card, I added a mix of Nuvo drops and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish off the project.

Thanks so much for taking the time and if this mood board inspires you go check-out the challenge :)

Simon Says Stamp Stamptember release!

Happy Monday crafty friends! As probably most crafters, I have indulged in the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember madness, lol. Made this project to enter in the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge - Embossing.

I used the new Forever Friends set for this one, if you follow my blog you will know that I am a sucker for critters of any kind.  I thought this set was so sweet. The frame is from Mama Elephant which was die cut from Neena Solar White 80lbs card stock.  I then masked my background and stamped these older Hero Arts trees with my Distress Oxide Inks. Once they dried I used the traditional Salty Ocean Distress Ink for my sky. I then reversed the mask to ink my ground with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks.

I stamped my images and coloured them with my Copic markers, I fussy cut them. While I was placing my images I felt it needed a little something so I stamped the tree stump from a Lawn Fawn set and fussy cut that as well. I found it set up the scene so much better.

I used a sentiment from the same SSS stamp set and gold embossed it on black card stock, the banner die is also from Lawn Fawn. To finish the project I added my favourite hearts from the CAS-ual Friday's Fun-Fetti Fri-dies.

Have a great week and thanks for taking the time!

CFC183 - Shaker Cards

Happy Friday crafty friends! I am so excited another summer weekend in-store for us in Montreal. Fitting as I travel to Edmonton for work next week and it snowed there this week...eek!

And it's time for another fun Cas-ual Friday's Challenge! This week we are focusing on shaker cards!

I used the fantastic new Mermaids stamp set for this one! Love these new products by CAS-ual Friday's.  I started by masking my "ground" with 2 inch PostIt tape and used a mix off Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks for the water. I then used a Hero Arts waves stencil and went over it again with the same colors only with a more intense application.

I then switched the mask to do the bottom in Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks and added some dot detail with my Gathered Twigs Distress Marker and my white gel pen.

I then took my Misti out and lined up my Mermaid, sentiment (which I cut for placement) and the accessories from the Mermaids stamp set and stamped them all in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added a bit of shimmery gel pen detail on the mermaid and the accessories.

I lined the sides with 3m foam tape and filled it with Hero Arts Ocean sequins. Once the card was put together I added some red hearts from Fun-Fetti on top.

Join us at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for the chance to win $25 worth of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and, drum roll please... Michelle with double the prize if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

Rainbow Elphie Selfie

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! It is summer all over again here in Montreal and it makes me happy! So, to hopefully add a smile to your face on hump day here is a bright card featuring Lawn Fawn and MFT.

I love the Elphie Selfie set by Lawn Fawn from their spring release of this year.  I love me some Lawn Fawn critters and for some reason this is the first time I use this set!

I was having fun with this card so I figured why not make a whimsical fun rainbow scene.  The stencil is from My Favorite Things - Radiating Rays and I used a rainbow mix of Distress Inks on the background.  I then wanted to mute the colors, so I opted for a piece of vellum.

I then colored my images from Elphie Selfie with my Copics. I used the coordinating dies and stamped my greeting on the vellum with VersaMark ink and white embossed it.  Then thought, well, If I am going whimsical lets just add some Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud borders on the top and bottom.

I then put my card together and finished it off with some hearts from the CAS-ual Friday's Fun-Fetti!

Thanks for taking the time!

Campfire Critters Birthday!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Hope you have a nice weekend in store! We are supposed to see very hot summer temperatures in Montreal :)

The project I am sharing today is made with stamps that are illustrated by Nicole Tamarin and manufactured by Art Gone Wild.  Both are new to me but boy, did I fall in love with these Critters.  Both sets that I used are made to be used with Chibitronics lights of which I have yet to purchase so my project does not incorporate the lighting.

This is a one layer with lots o' masking... I started by stamping my front images (porcupine, racoon and fire) with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink (my new favourite Copic friendly ink) with my Misti Stamp tool. I stamped them again on full sticky post-it notes. I fussy cut my masks then stamped my bear and cut and masked him.

I then placed post-it tape along the bottom to mask the future ground. I used a mix of Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet to create the sky even though I used Neena Solar White card stock to use my Copics I find that if you blend enough Distress Inks rock just as much on Neena. I switched my post-it tape to mask the top and used Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for my ground.

I removed my masks and coloured my images. By the time I finished colouring, I was able to use VersaMark Ink to emboss the sentiment in white and then the fireworks in gold.

To finish off the card, I used my gold Gellyroller for the Bears fireworks and some white Gellyroller for some added shading on the bear and the racoon. Some Glossy Accents on the fire, eyes and noses and finally some Copic C7 to ground the bottom of all the images.

Thanks for taking the time!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge - Create a Scene!

I love scene building, there is something so soothing about sitting down and just designing and creating an elaborate project! This card is for the new Challenge over at Lawn Fawnatics - Create a Scene!

I created a card base that would accommodate a business size envelope and it will also be great for a Christmas card to act as a money gift card. I decided to size it this way because I wanted to use ALL the penguins from Lawn Fawn lol! There are still sets of penguins not represented on this project.

I started with a piece of Bristol paper for my background and stamped the snow from the Snow Cool set and white embossed it. I then used Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks on the background.

I stamped all of my images on Neena Solar White from Here we go a-waddling, Winter Penguin and I stamped the bench from Winter in the Park directly on the base panel.  I colored my images with Copics and then added some glitter to act as snow on some of the hats and the top of the lampposts.

I die cut my snow using Lawn Fawn Stitched Border dies I put my card together and decided that the lampposts needed a little something so I used the bow die from the new Mini Wreath set and glued them on. I then added some of the great accessory music notes and bubble from the Here we go a-waddling set and a sentiment from that same set white embossed on Lawn Fawn black card stock.

I colored the shadow on the snow with some Cool Grey Copic markers and some sequins to finish off my card.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Wplus9 Modern Anemones

Happy Monday crafty friends! I finally had a nice relaxing weekend that did not include working for my day job! So I allowed myself some much needed downtime in my craft room.

I don't know about you but I am hanging on to the last of summer as much as I can so I was inspired by the Wplus9 Modern Anemones set.

I stamped a bunch of the images from the Modern Anemones set on Neena Solar White 80 lbs card stock so that I could use my Copic Sketch markers.  I researched anemones on-line and decided to go with pink.  I then die cut a panel using my favourite Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.  I placed my flowers and then decided to die cut my Awesome sentiment from Neena along with StickIt and Fun Foam for added dimension.  I used some Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry in an ombré effect and then stamped the You Are from Avery Elle on top.

I finished of my project with some Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets.

Thanks for taking the time and have a great week!

CFC182 - CASE a Girl Friday!

Happy Friday!!! Time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday's challenge blog!

This week we are CASEing a girl Friday, I found this one to be intimidating as the wonderful team for the challenge blog is extremely talented I was very nervous to CASE one of their fantastic designs. I decided to CASE Channin's gorgeous design from our last color challenge. (Click the link to see her fantastic card).

I have added two versions of pictures simply due to the lousy weather we have been experiencing. I finally purchased a light box but I have yet to set it up! Time to get on that!

I used the absolutely gorgeous Funky Flakes Fri-Dies by CAS-ual Friday's Stamps with some mirrored, foil and glitter paper for my snowflakes.

And a really pretty Blush colored embossing powder for my sentiment which is from the Snowy Sayings set. I finished off the card by adding some Rose Gold Pretty Pink Posh sequins and Rose Gold liquid Pearls.
