MFT Joy

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Today I am sharing projects featuring products from MFT's November release. I must say that these products are my favourite of the holiday season. I had so much fun with them that I made five projects all similar but a little different for some of my dearest friends.

Most of the products on all of these cards are by MFT. The Joy sentiment which I love, was die cut from a sandwich of fun foam, StickIt and Tonic mirror paper for all four in different colours.

The large MFT snowflakes were a mix of glitter and mirrored paper or gilding flakes (the blue and silver) and the green is Hero Arts glitter embossing powder.

The accompanying sentiment is from The Ton Stamps (I recently placed my first order with them and I love the products). The background die is also by MFT and it is by far my favourite of their large dies.

The blue is card is made from Neena Solar white and the three others are from MFT Whip Cream card stock.

All the sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh. Once I started, they were very quick to make.

Thanks for taking the time!

Carlyle Holiday Card 2017

Happy Monday crafty friends! I have been a little off the grid lately due to my large annual holiday card order.  Carlyle Construction (based in Montreal) orders bulk cards from me annually for their customers (I am very thankful to have them :). This year we decided on one model which is a shaker card. I have been busy filling this order and I am glad to say I am done! Yay!

It is a shaker card so they were a little longer than my usual but so worth it, I am so happy with the way they turned out! There is a massive mix of companies for this project.  I will simply list the products and companies used for these cards.

Paper: Lawn Fawn Narwal, MFT Silver Glitter Paper
Die-namics by MFT Frame
Lawn Fawn Snow Stamp (inside base card)
English sentiment by Avery Elle
French Sentiment by Lime Citron
Snow on transparency by Avery Elle
Inks: Hero Arts Unicorn White (Inside)
StazOn White on the Transperancy.
Sequins Pretty Pink Posh and a few specialty sequins mixed in.

I think that covers all of the products used!
Thanks for taking the time!

Mama Elephant Yeti!

Happy hump day crafty friends! Quick post today featuring the Mama Elephant Me and My Yeti stamp set.

I placed a Mama Elephant order during their 5th Birthday sale and I was on the fence about the Yeti set so I didn't add it to the order.  I kept looking at it and regretted my decision so I went back and grabbed it while I could! Not only do I love the big Yeti's but the tiny accessories are too sweet.

I decided on a tiny village scene and started by die cutting my Mama Elephant frame from the Lafayette collection in Neena Solar White 80lbs card stock.  For the insert panel I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and then sprayed the background with my Distress Sprayer.  I then cut one more panel for the insert to make snow slopes for my scene.

I then stamped my images with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink to use my Copic markers.  I did multiple of the trees and the mountains and two of the smaller house. Then my Yeti and the little humans from the set.

Once I decided on my placement I embossed my sentiment from Sentiments from a Yeti in Ranger red glitter embossing powder.  I glued all of my elements to the card and I was all done!

Thanks for taking the time!

Altenew special Birthday!

Happy Monday crafty Friends! My project today features the Altenew Build-a-Flower: Rose stamp set.

This is a special project because it was one of the cards that I made for my Mom's 70th Birthday that we celebrated over the weekend. She loves yellow :)

I took me three tries to master the layers of this set because I used all five to give it as much depth as possible. I used a mix of the Altenew inks and some Hero Arts for the flower and the leaves from the same set. I die cut my images with the accompanying dies.  I then decided that I wanted to try my new Nuvo gilding flakes in the gold (I bought all three and they are simply beautiful).

I used my double sided tape in three different sizes to adhere the flakes. It makes a little bit of a mess but I think the result is worth it! I cleaned the remaining tiny flakes with a Swiffer cloth and it worked like a charm. I really love the effect of the gilding flakes!

I then took out an older (but one of my favourite) birthday sentiments from Papertrey Ink. I finished off the project with a scattering of sequins and gems by Studio Katia (new products for me).

Thanks so much for taking the time and have a great week!

CFC187 - Gratitude with Altitude

Happy Friday crafty friends! I am so looking forward to a weekend with no work in sight! At least not right now, lol!  Every other Friday means time for another CAS-ual Friday's Challenge!

The theme this week is Gratitude with Altitude!

I thought what set better to display altitude then the fantastic Tutu set :). I paired it with the Thanks from the Smiling Fri-Dies. I wanted colour on the project since the ballerina is black so I opted for a rainbow offset sentiment with my thanks. I die cut the sentiment in an array of rainbow colors and stacked them offset to see the rainbow effect.  I then colored in my Ballerina's flowers with a mix of rainbow Zig Clean Color Real brush markers.

I then added a rainbow assortment of sequins, Nuvo drops and finally three hearts from the Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies.

Honey Bee Flakey Friends Gift Tags

Happy Tuesday! Quick post today to share these cute Honey Bee Stamps Flakey Friends gift tags.

These are my first two sets of Honey Bee Stamps that I just purchased from Butterfly Reflections Ink.  I just love these critters and they are actually sold-out on the Honey Bee site but if you are interested Vanessa at Butterfly Reflections Ink. had some in-stock and they are currently on sale!

This bear from the Flakey Friends set is by far may favourite! He is too cute! I die cut my Avery Elle Shaker Tags Elements from Neena Solar White. I only cut with the main tag die I then embossed the second die that is meant to be the top of the shaker to add the dotted detail to my tags. I stamped my bear first with my Misti and masked him off at the bottom to stamp the snowy slop stamp with HA Soft Pool ink. I then coloured him with Copics.

I repeated the same process for all four tags for the main image and the slop.  I then stamped the snowflake cluster also with the Soft Pool ink all around the images and I masked the sides of the tag so the border would remain white.

I then stamped all of my accessories on a seperate piece on Neena and coloured them in also with my Copics and I fussy cut the images.  For the lights on the deer above I just stamped them directly on the antlers. The angle worked well and I coloured them in.

I then added all of my scarves and hats to my images and added some white gell pen detail.  I die cut the sentiment banner by Lawn Fawn also from Neena and stamped my sentiment also by Lawn Fawn in a mix of embossing ink and Lawn Fawn Lobster ink.  I used glitter embossing powder on two and the ink on the other two.

I then added some Star Dust Stickles to the snow slope and the whites of the two hats and some glossy accents to noses and eyes. I then die cut a coordinating color tag and offset the white tag on top. Finished them with a mix of twine and wool.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

MFT Happy Pawlidays for Butterfly Reflections!

Happy Saturday crafty friends! So happy to be with you today on the Butterfly Reflections Ink. Blog! I am deep into my holiday cards so I am sharing a fun one with you today featuring MFT products that can be found in the Butterfly Reflections Ink. Shop :)

My inspiration for the project was the puppy from the new MFT Happy Pawlidays set and I colored the pup like my little BFF Duffy :) I then went through my MFT stash and decided to use the accessories (carpet and pillows) from the MFT Merry Christmoose stamp set.  I stamped the accessories on Kraft card stock and colored them with my Copic Sketch markers. I then decided to opt for a Kraft background.

For the background I decided that I wanted a wallpaper effect so I used the Lawn Fawn Argyle Background stamp with some Judikins sticky embossing powder to add some gold Nuvo gilding flakes. I then cut a piece of wood pattern paper for the floor.  I placed my colored images on the background and decided I was missing some accessory elements so I stamped the ornaments and gift from the Happy Pawlidays set on Kraft, colored them and then used the accompanying dies. I fussy cut the other elements so they would be seamless on the scene but I felt that the dies for the ornaments was fine. I then embellished them with my white and stardust Gellyroller pen.

I opted for the beautiful Joy die from the newest MFT release for the sentiment (love this die). Once all of my elements were glued to the card base I really felt that the little "Duffy" needed the Lawn Fawn bubble with the bone from the Christmas Dream Stamp set lol!

I then added glossy accents to the ornaments, the dogs nose and eyes and the buttons on the middle pillow.  Thanks so much for taking the time! If any of these products interest you they are available a Butterfly Reflections Ink. If there are items out of stock simply press the notify me option. Vanessa is really quick about re-stocking!

Thanks for taking the time and have a great weekend!

Mama Elephant Christmas!

Happy Thursday crafty friends! I went a little loco with the holiday Mama Elephant release... As I am sure many of you crafters out there can understand! Lol.

The little bear on a tree stump is my favourite little guy from the A Beary Christmas stamp set. He is so cute with his candle!

When I first saw this stamp all I had in mind was this little guy looking for Santa :) I started by stamping a Hero Arts Layering tree. I then masked a "moon" and added some Mustard Seed distress ink for the glow. I then added a smaller mask to add the candle glow and used the same mustard seed. I then reversed the mask and used Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress inks for the sky.

I stamped my image and coloured him in with Copics and added white detail to his scarf and fussy cut him so he wouldn't have a white border. I then found the Santa and sleigh stamp from a Lawn Fawn set and stamped it over the sky and moon and added red Nuvo Drops to the nose on Rudolph of course!

I then decided to use the Mama Elephant detailed die from the Union Square set to frame the scene and a stitched scalloped border die for the top and bottom.  I then added snow to the bottom of the scene. I put everything on top of an MFT Cherry Crisp A2 sized panel.

Added the sentiment from the Sentiments from a Yeti set to finish it off.
Thanks for taking the time!

Winter Rose on Kraft!

Happy Monday crafty friends! I hope you had a great weekend with some time for crafting :)

As I mentioned in my last post, I ordered some Windsor and Newton Gouache following a tutorial by Dawn from WPlus9 during the Online Card Class, Making Merry.  I really did not need a new colouring medium, lol! But the fact that it paints so beautifully on dark card stock made me have to try it! You really should check out the Online Card Classes they are fantastic.

I decided to try the Winter Rose Bouquet by WPlus9 on Kraft card stock, the last project I had completed with these was a much smaller image. I enjoyed using the gouache much more on an image of this size.  I am pretty happy with the way it turned out for a second attempt with the gouache.  I purchased the starter 10 color pack and mixed the colors to get better variations.

I didn't want the sentiment to detract from the painted flowers so I opted for the new MFT Joy die with some green mirrored card stock also by MFT I believe. I also added some gold detail to the flower centres with my Gellyroller pen.

Thanks so much for taking the time and have a great week!

CFC186 - Anything but a Card!

Happy Friday crafty friends! I love Friday's especially when it's time for a new CAS-ual Friday's Challenge!
This week it's anything but a Card!

I decided on a tag for my project featuring the beautiful Mistletoe from the Mistletoe and Holly stamp set! I just love this image. I felt like trying my new Windsor and Newton Gouache (inspired by the new Holiday Online Card Class). The joy of Gouache is that is paints beautifully on dark card stock!

I chose a navy blue to make a nice masculine tag. I gold embossed my Mistletoe and sentiment also from CAS-ual Friday's on the base of my tag. I used two different red colors for the bow, a mix of greens for the leaves and I finished by adding Liquid Pearls on my berries.  I was going to make a shaker tag but I felt that it would take away from the Mistletoe so I just added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

A simple project but I love the depth of the Gouache :) To finish off the tag I added some red and white twine.

Dashing Deer

Happy hump day crafty friends! Winter temps are starting to hit Montreal this week, we have been so spoiled with warm weather up until now. So it is time to start thinking about holiday and winter wishes!

I usually love MFT releases but October's of this year is by far my favourite and it wasn't only because of the sweet pups!

I really love the Dashing Deer set, these critters are all so sweet.  I stamped all of the images from the stamp set because I just wanted to color them with my Copics. The card design came after, lol! Once I had decided to place them in a forest, I decided to pair them with a Birch Tree stencil (will have to add the company later, I must find where it came from).

I die cut my background panel using the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle die. I then masked off a "snow" hill and decided to use Simon Says Stamp Fog ink (light grey) to use over my stencil to give a snowy forest effect with the birch trees.

I then added some snow with my "snow" marker and used my heat tool to help it puff up. I then lined the snow with Star Dust Stickles for shine. I placed all of my Critters on their "assigned" snow banks and then added grey shading underneath to ground them.

I decided on a sentiment from the same set. I embossed the sentiment on Tonic flat red mirrored paper. LOVE this paper. I then adjusted the largest of the MFT Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips to be a smaller size to properly accommodate the size of the sentiment.

I finished by adding snow dots to my background using a Star Dust Gellyroller pen, I like the subtle effect it offered. Once my sentiment was placed on the card I added the greenery for an added fun element. I used an Avery Elle light grey card base, I felt it went well with the Fog ink from the trees.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I love your comments so please feel free.
