Pretty Pink Posh Hummingbirds

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Like many of you, I have been so anxious to get my hands on the Pretty Pink Posh Hummingbirds stamp and die set! I had such fun with these, I am in serious need of spring inspiration and they sure did that for me!

I wasn't sure about my background (the heart cover plate die is by Hero Arts from last year and the cloud stencil is by MFT) at first so I added a vellum overlay to soften the hearts and cloud mix.  I stamped my birds with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink to use my Copic markers in a mix of pastels in the BG, BV, R and Y families. I added some dot detail with the darkest Copic of that color family and some black gel pen on the eyes for definition.

I then die cut some MFT stitched clouds from both vellum and Neena 80lbs card stock and also die cut the Hero Arts Wonderful (Stamp and Cut set) from Tonic glitter card stock and a StickIt and fun foam sandwich for added dimension (I like to die cut my glitter and fun foam separately to make sure I get the best cut from my glitter paper).

I put all of my elements on the card base, once I was happy with the placement I added two white embossed sentiments from black card stock (also from the Hero Arts Stamp and Cut set) on the top and bottom of the wonderful.

I finished the project with a rainbow assortment of sequins by Studio Katia and gold die cut hearts from the CAS-ual Fridays Fun-Fetti. Most of the products used were purchased at the Butterfly Reflections Ink on-line shop.

Thanks for taking the time!

Mama Elephant - Fly with Me

Happy Monday! January is almost over! I always see a ray of sunshine at this time of year because February is a short month and that means spring is around the corner, lol (at least in my mind).

I had such fun over the weekend playing with my new Mama Elephant products :)

I am in love with these elephants (Fly with Me), I mean could they be any cuter! I started by die cutting my background panel (Neena Solar White) with the new full size die from the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine set and then used a cloud stencil and some distress inks. I then die cut the stitched cloud from the same die set to make a shaker card. I wasn't sure if I wanted one elephant or multiples so I stamped them all with my Lawn Fawn Jet Black Copic friendly ink. I colored in the cuties with warm greys and the balloons in kind of rainbow order.

I decided to use these three elephants on the card and added some extra clouds die cut from both Neena and Vellum.  I then added some Studio Katia rainbow sequins and seed beads by Pretty Pink Posh. I really like the way this one turned out. These elephants simply make me smile!

Thanks for taking the time!

Friendship cards

Happy Friday crafty friends! I was scheduled to go to Alberta for work this weekend and I have to say I am beyond happy that I no longer have to go! Yay, craft room time! I have been making a lot of friendship cards lately for a few reasons: I need to start sending more happy mail and this time of year can be depressing for many and this is such a nice way to uplift someone's spirits :)

I am entering this one in the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #89 - Friendship Theme.

I started with a snowflake set by Create a Smile - Snowflake Whispers (these are beautiful snowflakes) and I stamped them with Delicata Pink Shimmer Ink and to add some Copic detail with RV52 and RV55 (may as well have pink snowflakes!) I then embossed the snowflakes with Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder. Hard to see in the pictures, but such a pretty effect. I then die cut a heart from some pattern vellum that was in my stash. I don't usually explore with different or competing patterns but I though this was a sweet look.

I took my favorite Simon Says Stamp Hello die and die cut it from a StickIt, black fun foam and black card stock sandwich and I white embossed the Sweet Friend from the Simon Says Stamp Forever Friends stamp set. I then found some thick pink twine in my stash wound it on the card base and used clear foam tape to mount my heart and added my sentiments. I also used Glossy Accents on the the hello for shiny dimension.

And, of course to top off the project I used Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold sequins and some pink gems by Studio Katia on top.

Thanks so much for taking the time your comments make my day!

In love with Otters!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Had the chance to spend some quality time in my craft room last weekend and I decided to pull out my MFT Otters.  For those of you that don't know me, I am a huge animal lover and should probably be running an animal refuge! One particular (besides dogs, of course) is otters. I am simply in love with otters and would love to give one a good home (much to my husbands trauma, lol!)

I tend to purchase any otter set on the market but this guy from the My Favorite Things Otterly Love You set is by far my favorite!

This project began after I played with some of my alcohol inks and one of the backgrounds became my waves die cut with the Mama Elephant Ocean Waves Trio dies.  I then used another Mama Elephant die (Madison Avenue) for my frame and background. I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide for the sky and sprayed it with my Distress Sprayer for texture.

I then used my Copic Sketch in E71, W3, W1 and WO for my Otter. I also colored some of the fish from the same set with simple coloring.

I put the card together and decided on the Mama Elephant Hello Friend Script Creative Cut and used my new obsession Tonic Glitter paper.  I die cut three and stacked them for dimension and then glued them to the background.

To finish the project I scattered a mix of Studio Katia jewels and Hero Arts Ocean sequins. I have been making many friendship cards, I guess winter has a way of letting you know to send out some happy mail!

Thanks for taking the time!

Concord and 9th Dahlia

Happy Monday crafty friends! Have you all seen the fantastic sneaks from Creativation? How many of you were watching over the weekend wishing you could be in Phoenix? Lol. I can't wait for the releases, I have my eye on Lawn Fawn, Tim Holtz, Avery Elle and the list goes on and on!

I am a little behind the 8-ball with this project today, it features the fantastic Dahlia turnabout stamp and die set by Concord and 9th. This sucker kept evading me and was sold out but EVERYWHERE! I finally got my little hands on it and I played and played this weekend!

I simply love this stamp and die set, I started by following the instructions and marking the centre of the stamp and I cut a 6x6 piece of card stock and marked the centre to use with my stamp positioner (in this case the Tim Holtz stamp platform).

I added my Neena Solar with panel in the centre of the 6x6 piece and began stamping 3 sides. I used Baby Boy ink Catherine Pooler (CP), Cornflower Blue ink by Hero Arts and Tide Pool Ink also by Hero Arts.  I then die cut my "fourth" turn so that I could use my new Tonic glitter papers. I am in love with this new glitter paper. This card features the Tropical Tide glitter paper which is an ocean blue color with hints of yellow and green when reflected in the light, it's really beautiful. I then paired the friend from the C&9 Dahlia set with the Altenew Hello with matching die cut. I white embossed both on Lawn Fawn black card stock.

For this one, I used CP Baby Girl Ink, Lawn Fawn Flamingo and Mama Elephant Buttercup Pigment ink all to match the flecks in the Tonic Opulent Orchid Glitter Paper (I tell you, I love this stuff and it die cuts beautifully).  I paired the You Are from the Dahlia set with this awesome, Awesome die by Your Next Stamp. I embossed the sentiment strip and for the large word die, I die cut it from a fun foam, StickIt and Tonic Black Sapphire glitter paper sandwich.

Green is by far my favourite color so I couldn't resist the Luck Clover Glitter Paper (Tonic) so I used a mix of Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp green inks. I did the same type of sandwich for the Amazing but used plain black card stock and added some Nuvo glitter pen and Glossy accents for shine to make it stand out due to the darker in colors I used.

This last one had Tonic red glitter paper paired with some coral and peach inks and I forgot to write down the exact colors I used (sorry...) I did the Awesome die cut in the same way as the green with Tonic shimmer pen and glossy accents.

Thanks for taking the time!

More Coffee Please!

Happy Friday crafty Friends! Time for another fun challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday's challenge blog!

The challenge is all about coffee! Have you seen Michelle's newest release - all coffee themed! I couldn't get enough of the new To Go Cup die! I decided on gift tags for my project, I mean it's the perfect size.

I decided on three different sentiments from the Hot Coffee set and I white embossed them on vellum to go over the Glitter "sleeve". Wouldn't a glitter sleeve be fun a Starbucks! Lol.

These sentiments are among my favorites. I mean the Sir Mix A lot Baby Got Back  play on words with the I like Big Cups and I Cannot Lie! Love it. I had such fun making these and most of the people in my life are coffee addicts!

To put them together, I die cut the top from pattern paper and the backs from white card stock. I sandwiched the twine in between and glued two tops back to back (shaded with grey Copic markers). I wrapped my vellum over the glitter and used foam tape to attach the glitter to the base. This was a quick and easy project and I love the way they turned out.

Join us at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for the chance to win $25 worth of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and, drum roll please... Michelle with double the prize if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

Lawn Fawn Valentine :)

Happy Thursday crafty friends! I have been off the radar this week due to work commitments but I had a chance to play with my newer Lawn Fawn products for the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge!

The inspiration board for the current challenge is such fun! I decided on the sweet dinosaur from the "RAWR" set and I colored her with my Copic Sketch in YG97, YG95 and YG93 and added some dot detail with the YG99 and YG97 along with a white gel pen. I decided she needed to hold an extra large valentine which I took from the Scripty Love set from a few years age and used R89, R39, R37 and R35 for the red and RV52 and RV55 for the heart that I later covered with pink Nuvo drops.

I cut her "hand" using a craft knife to slip the envelope into the die cut.  I then die cut my hearts (Lacy Hearts Stackables, Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables and Heart Tiny Tag) from the Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers and Tonic Scarlet Organza Mirror Card Satin Effect. I put the base of the card together and added the top layer to see where I could best place my sentiment.

I chose to use the Lawn Fawn Scripty Love die cut from the same Tonic Scarlet specialty paper but I added some StickIt and Fun Foam for dimension.

I placed all the elements on my heart card topped  off the Tiny Tag with some pink chiffon ribbon and some pink and clear gems by Studio Katia.

If you love Lawn Fawn, go check out the challenge!
Thanks for taking the time,
Kim

MFT Beautiful Butterflies

Happy Friday crafty friends! Well, middle of January and I need color in my life! I picked-up these MFT Beautiful Butterflies during a boxing day sale at my local store and I just love them.

Every year during winter I always ask myself why I live in Quebec... Lol So this rainbow butterfly card is a nice break from grey and dreary.  I used a mix of Lawn Fawn, Hero Arts and Catherine Pooler die inks for the Butterflies and the black outline is Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added some Tonic Shimmer pen to the darker colors on the butterflies.

I then took some new Tonic glitter paper (black glitter, so beautiful) backed it with StickIt and die cut my sentiment with this beautiful new Simon Says Stamp die set and placed it on my MFT background panel. I then placed my butterflies around the sentiment and finished off my project with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Spiderman!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! They are announcing a massive storm over the weekend for Montreal - call me crazy but I love weekend storms I can hibernate in the craft room! LOL

My local scrapbook store received a series of Marvel comics dies and the Harry Potter series. I purchased a few to try them and I plan on getting more!

I started with Spiderman and Iron Man - I had to have these dies, they are perfect for my husband and nephews! I was so happy with the way this turned out, my husband's birthday is next week and he will be so happy with this! I die cut the Spiderman from both MFT Cherry Crisp and the Lawn Fawn Blue Jay card stocks. I simply had to snip a few lines and was easily able to paper piece the image. I added some highlight with my C3 Copic Sketch and some Nuvo White for the eyes (which I outlined with a black gel pen)

I used Bristol paper for my background with a mix of Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. I then used my Distress Sprayer for the sky.  My buildings dies are by Paper Smooches and the Happy Birthday is a new one I picked up from Simon Says Stamp. I die cut the sentiment from some new Tonic white Glitter paper (love all the Tonic specialty papers, they rock). All in all a very easy project!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

CAS-ual Friday's Challenge - All that Glitters!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Bracing for a snow storm here in Montreal, the last two weeks has either been sub-zero temps or snow - this is a winter like we haven't seen in a while. But on the bright side it is the first CAS-ual Friday's Challenge of the new year!

All that Glitters is the challenge this time around!

I wanted a masculine gift tag, my husband has a January birthday so this worked out great to use on his gift. I die cut my paper from the Scallop Tags Fri-Dies from both pattern paper and the grey background card stock.  I white embossed my sentiment from the Bold Wishes stamp set on the background.

I then die cut my shaker material from Glitter card stock using the Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies (love the Fun-Fetti, especially the hearts) I put my acetate on the front panel and put the tag together. I toped it off with some ribbon and twine.

Yeti New Year!

Happy New Year crafty friends! I can't believe it is 2018! I am looking forward to the New Year and I am pleased to be with you today sharing this Yeti New Year card! All of the products used are available at the Butterfly Reflections Ink. shop.

I ordered this fantastic Yeti Fun set by Craftin Dessert Divas late in the season and I so wanted to use it! This set can also be used for winter themed cards which, is fun. I decided to use the "snow angel" Yeti because he is just too cute!

I colored him with my Copic markers using the BV family for the illusion of snow. I then used a mix of sentiments from the Hero Arts Wonderful Stamp and Cut and the Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy add-on (New Year). I then wanted New Years Fireworks so I looked to the Lawn Cuts Stitched Fireworks dies for the background. To add some sparkle, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Wisteria Blosson sequins mix

I then added one of the sentiments from the Yeti Fun set on the inside to finish off the card. I hope you all have a wonderful 2018!

If any of these products interest you go to the Butterfly Reflections Ink. shop and if any items are out of stock, simply select the "notify me" Vanessa re-stocks quickly!
