Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Wild Rose Studio

It's Wednesday crafty friends and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring Wild Rose Studio products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I chose the sweet Penguin with Heart stamp set by Wild Rose for my card today. I just love the illustration of their stamps and this guy is no exception!  The stamp itself has a heart balloon but I really wanted to use the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Sparkle shaker mix and it ended up being my color inspiration for this card. A mix of iridescent sequins in blues and purples with some snowflakes, it really is a beautiful mix. So I picked a Lawn Fawn outside in Stitched Heart die for my shaker window that acted as the balloon.

I stamped my penguin on a piece of Neena 80lbs card panel using my Misti and re-stamped on masking paper so that I could do my background ink blending.  After he was masked, I added a piece of PostIt tape to the bottom and blended some Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac Distress inks with a light hand. The colors were chosen based on the sequin mix but I do love non-traditional colors for the holidays.

I added some water with my distress sprayer for the droplets. While that dried I die cut the insert heart and used the same ink colors.  I went back and coloured in my penguin once that was done, I die cut the heart "balloon".

I added a few embossed snowflakes around the background and added some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter drops to the centres.

Once that was all dry, I addd my snow marker to the bottom and dried it to "puff" it up with my heat tool and embossed my sentiment on the heart.  I added my sequins to the centre of the heart and put the top panel on the base using 3m Foam tape so the sequins could shake.

To finish off the card, I added bells and twine from my stash to the ballon base.

Simon Says Stamp Exclusive collaboration with Clearly Besotted Stamps

Happy Monday crafty friends! Today I am sharing the card that I made for my Mom's birthday in early November! I can share it now because she checks my blog lol!

This one was made with Simon Says Stamp brand exclusive (sentiment) and the magnolia is actually an exclusive STAMPember collaboration with Clearly Besotted Stamps.

This card design was completely inspired by Cynde Whitlow from The Pink Envelope blog, if you don't follow her I highly recommend her YouTube tutorials. She is such a talent! She inspired me to go with some no-line Copic colouring on a larger image and add an inked frame.

I started by stamping my magnolia and coloring it in (all colors linked and listed below) Once that was complete I die cut my panel using my favourite Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangle die. I taped off all four sides with PostIt tape and very lightly blended some Evergreen Bough distress ink (the paper is Neena 80lbs cardstock)

I let the Distress Ink dry completely before embossing my sentiment from the fantastic Simon Says Stamp Sketch Flowers set with Simon's Silver embossing powder.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh clear drops to finish off the card!

Mahalo Friend!

Happy Saturday! I am over at a Blog Named Hero today sharing this friendship gratitude card.

I am an animal addict and my husband often says that I should be running an animal refuge of which, I would agree 100% lol! Sea turtles are among my favourites (well, If I had a favourite). So I chose the fantastic Sea Turtle Layering stamp set not only because of the layering turtle but also because of the Mahalo sentiment.

I started by stamping my turtle with a mix of Hero Arts green inks on Neena Solar White 80lbs cardstock a used the accompanying die cut.  I then die cut antother Neena panel with the Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle dies and blended a light layer of Salty Ocean Distress Ink in the middle. Once that was complete, I added some water with my Distress Sprayer to offer some "water droplet" texture.

I stamped my sentiments from both the layering turtle set and the "friend" sentiment is from Hand Drawn Messages by Hero Arts.  I placed my turtle on the base panel and I felt it needed a little something more so I die cut the sweet Hibiscus flower from the Layering Turtle set and framed my sentiments with them.

I finished off my card with some iridescent sequins, a line of gold washiest tape on the left side and some white blizzard Nuvo glitter on the centre of the sequins.

You still have time to join in on the fun challenge! Thanks so much for taking the time!

Story Book Puppy Tag :)

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating today! We celebrate ours here in Canada in early October, although we may make a small turkey this weekend because I am seeing all of these amazing pictures everywhere I am in the mood now!

Today I am sharing a large size tag that I made using the amazing Simon Says Stamp Large Storybook dies! This is the puppy face and I just love him :)  I die cut all of my elements twice from Neena 110lbs cardstock first, including the face but for that I did selective die-cutting so that it would be a solid baking piece for both the front and back of the tag.

I then die cut all of the front elements once more from multiple colors of wool felt.

I glued all of my pieces together, and I am so happy with the way it turned out.  I then used the Lawn Fawn Woodland Critters add-on to die cut the Santas hat elements including the holly and berries. I placed that on his head with a mix of wet glue and foam tape in the middle.

To finish off, I added a Lawn Fawn heart to the hugging arms and a pompom from my stash for the Santa's hat.  I added Nuvo Glaze to his eyes and nose and once that dried I added some white detail with my gel pen.

For the sentiment, I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and I stamped it on a Tiny Tag Creative Cut from Mama Elephant.

Simon Says is having a 30% off sale today only on their exclusive brand products, you can pick up these storybook dies at a discount until 11:59 tonight!

Simon Says: Baby It's Cold Outside!

It's Wednesday crafty friends and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Baby it's Cold Outside! The design team is featuring fantastic Penny Black products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I had to use this sweet set by Penny Black called Nose to Nose, these bears are adorable!  I started by stamping my bears with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink on a Neena Solar White 80lbs card panel (4.25 x 5.5).  I then colored the images with my Copic markers (all colors listed and linked below). I colored the scarf last and I decided to use some BG75 and BG72 - colors I don't usually play with often and I am so happy with the result.

Using those colors for the scarf made me rediscover the gorgeous Evergreen Bough color in the Distress Ink and Oxide lines. I LOVE this color! So I chose that one to blend my sky.  Once that was complete and dry, I stamped snowflakes from a couple of different sets (linked below) and I alternated between gold and white embossing and the Evergreen Bough Oxide Ink.  I was so happy with the way it turned out.

I then die cut a Simon Says Stamp brand exclusive winter die from a Tonic Harvest Gold Mirror cardstock and a fun foam and StickIt sandwich and I placed it on my panel and added to secondary sentiment on Lawn Fawn Black Licorice cardstock.

For embellishments, I added this great Coconut Palms mix (also listed below) with a mix of gold Stickles, Nuvo White Blizzard, Nuvo Simply White and Nuvo Sunlit meadow. I finished with a little white gel pen detail!

Lawn Fawn Pastel Christmas!

Happy Monday Crafty friends! I made this card to submit it to the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge only I should have verified the date... I am a day late, lol! I had such fun making this one, I decided to share anyway.

So the inspiration was the pastel color palette that was the last challenge over at Lawn Fawnatics.  I do love non-traditional colors at Christmas and I wanted to use the Oh What Fun set from the last Lawn Fawn release.

I started by die cutting my frame from Neena Solar White and the Tonic White Glitter paper using the Lawn Fawn portrait stitched hillside die. I then took the inside piece and die cut that again using the Lawn Fawn Portrait Snowfall background die.  I then added a bit of Shaded Lilac Distress Ink with a really light hand. I thought this light purple was perfect with the pastel theme.

Once that was complete I die cut all of my accompanying scene (all included in the Lawn Sawn Portrait Stitched Hillside die set)  from a mix of Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp cardstocks and shaded them lightly with the coordinating Distress Ink.

I stamped and colored in my images with my Copic Markers, die cut them and put my little scene together. I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze, Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops, some white pen detail and some Nuvo Drops in coordinating colors on the trees.

To finish off I added the Lawn Fawn Joy sentiment and the Oh What Fun at the bottom.

Blog Named Hero Grateful!

Happy Thursday! It's the 15th of the month and that means it's time for a new A Blog Named Hero Challenge!

This month we are Grateful!

I chose the sweet Hero Arts Lovebirds Stamp and Cut set for my card today, I googled pictures of lovebirds and there was a pair that looked exactly like these two so that set my color palette for my card. It's also not a color scheme I play with often.

I die cut my Strathmore Bristol Paper with the Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle dies. I then blended Blueprint Sketch and Shaded Lilac Distress Ink. Once that was complete I used my Distress Sprayer on the panel.

I took A Star Stencil with some Nuvo Glitter Paste and spread it on the background. I really love the effect it gave.

Once everything was dry I placed my Copic colored images on the panel using foam tape and then adhered my sentiments.

I then added a scattering of Ocean sequins and some star gems on the panel.

Thanks so much for taking the time, products listed and lined below.

Thanks for taking the time,
Kim!

Simon Says: All That Glitters Is Gold

It's Wednesday crafty friends and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: All that Glitters is Gold! The design team is featuring Lawn Fawn products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I chose the String of Lights die set from Lawn Fawn for my card. I die cut them from Tonic Harvest Gold paper and used Wow Hologram Embossing powder three times to make them shine. You can see the effect in the close-up picture.  Once that was complete I added a little Nuvo Glaze to the right side of all the lights and put some Lawn Fawn Chunky Glitter on all three.

I then put a complete coat of the Glaze over all three to make them look even and uniform.  Once that was dry, I added white gel pen to emphasize the highlights on the dies.

I then added to light toppers that were embossed with Ranger Silver Tinsel embossing powder.

I die cut the accompanying "string" for the lights in a dark Christmas green and I glued my elements to my 4.25 x 5.5 card panel.  I then die cut the Scripty Joy from Lawn Fawn from a StickIt, Fun Foam and Lawn Fawn gold glitter paper sandwich.

I glued it to the panel and went on to add a secondary sentiment and used my Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing powder on Lawn Fawn Black Licorice cardstock and used foam tape to glue it to the panel.

To finish off, I added some Lilac Lane Reindeer sequin mix and I stamped a few tiny hearts with my Delicata Gold Ink.

Fla la la la la la la mingo!

Happy Monday! For the first time in my professional life I have decided to take a well-deserved week off to myself in November! Yes and I am so happy. I signed-up for the new on-line card class and I will be able to participate in real time! I have some real crafty plans for the week!

I can't even with these MFT Festive Flamingos! I mean seriously adorable! I had such fun with this one and it was my maiden voyage with the new Festive Berries Oxide Ink (LOVE THAT COLOR)!

I started by blending my background with Festive Berries, Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks. I added some water with my Distress Sprayer for added effect. I then colored these beautiful Festive Flamingos with my Copics and used the accompanying dies.

I chose this beautiful Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Holly die with some Tim Holtz woodgrain cardstock, I love the added texture.  I adhered the background panel with foam tape for added dimension and then added some Christmas Red and Holly Stickles to the frame for added color.

I used foam tape for my Flamingos, and added some glossy accents, white blizzard and white Nuvo drops to the flamingos and the background.

I finished by embossing my sentiment with Rose Gold embossing powder on Tonic Scarlet Organza specialty paper and used an MFT banner die.

I do love the way it turned out! All products are listed and linked below affiliate links are used at no extra cost to you!
